If I ever get the opportunity to race at the Le Mans Classic I would choose something like this. A Cooper Jaguar T38. It's got grace & pace. All it is lacking is the space. But who cares when you are charging round a race track in a beauty like this!
It's the Le Mans Classic this weekend. Have yet to attend this wonderful spectacle but it has been on the bucket list for a while. When I do make the pilgrimage to France I would do it in this. An AC 428. Why? It is the ultimate GT with a big Ford V8 up front + an auto box. And enough room for the weekend bags. Comfy cruising in style!
Yesterday I took the Viceroy out for a spin and saw that the clock had hit one of those numbers. So i had to take a pic before I drove off. And then while out I spotted another 6 cylinder Vauxhall. Just 48yrs separate my Viceroy and this lovely 1934 Vauxhall 12. Which I think is a Deluxe model as it had a sunroof. Was nice to see it out enjoying the warm weather.
And following on from my Redex Trial update here's an interview I did with Redex this week. They give their 5 tips for looking after your classic cars fuel system. Because the last thing you want are gummed up carbs or injectors.

Here's my latest update on my Jaguar XJ8 and its progress with the Redex trial. After an initial drop the thirsty Jags fuel economy has improved. And it even managed to beat a previous record. It still likes a drink though!
Nothing takes me back to the 1980s more than an Opel Manta. These were one of my favourite sports cars when I was growing up. And a few lived locally as well, so I was lucky enough to see one very so often. They just looked like a proper sports car. And I have to say I drooled over this rally spec Manta for some time. Sadly it didn't take part in any racing at Curborough Sprint Circuit the other Friday. But it still looked awesome!

The full write up inc photos and the video of the Audi Quattro track day is now live on the website. Head on over and give it a watch... it's more exciting than an episode of that game of foot the ball!
The latest Take to the Road video is now live on the YouTube Channel. And just in time for #TurboThursday as well. Watch me find out what its like to get driven round in a 400BHP Audi Quattro Group 4 Rally Car! This thing was insane!
Thanks to 6r4net for a great track day. And to video sponsors Duckhams Oil.

One very cool and super rare car at the 6R4.net meet last Friday was the prototype Vauxhall Astra 4S. It's got a supercharged 2.4ltr engine and is 1 of 3 in existence. It sounded amazing as it went round the track. Like it was gargling nails, but really really big nails. Completely different to any other car on the track that day. Since it is such a rare car with hard to find parts, the owner didn't gun it round the track. Which was understandable. It still looked and sounded awesome though!

Been working on the next Take to the Road video, which is due out tomorrow evening at 8pm. In this one I get chucked around quite a bit in a 400BHP Audi Quattro. It was an animal of car!!! Can I have a go again?

Here's our highlights of the 2018 Belgravia Classic Car Show. It was a great day out in London with some exceptional cars on display. Have a read to see what stood out at the show.

So yesterday I had the privilege of attending the 6R4 Club private track day at Curborough Sprint Circuit. It was an epic day out! And I got passenger rides in an Audi Quattro and a Ford RS200! I’ve got lots of footage to share so stay tuned for a few videos🎥
Not all Fiat's have small engines. Behold The Beast of Turin! A colossal 28.5 litres of Italian torque💪
The Fiat S76 was originally built by Fiat to break the world land speed record and produces 300BHP! A staggering amount for 1911!

The Triumph Italia 2000. One of my favourite Triumph's ever. A superb Italian two door coupe take on the Triumph TR3. Only 329 of these Vignale coach built cars were made between 1959 - 1962. The brain child of Standard-Triumph distributor Salvatore Ruffino, the project effectively died when Leyland took over Standard-Triumph in 1961.

Looking forward to spending time with the Metro 6R4 again tomorrow. More details on this later... can't say any more for now!🤫
In the meantime here's the video of my ride in the awesome Group B Rally car at the Best of Italy Race last year.
Now this is a wagon with a difference! Nissan Stagea RS4! No idea what they are like but it’s got a 276BHP 2.5ltr turbo charged motor. Apparently a lot of GTR stuff can bolt on to improve power and handling. This ticks a lot of boxes!

Spotted this lovely 380 SL while out for a stroll this evening. This one had a dark brown hardtop. A shade I haven’t seen before. Makes a change from the more usual black. Do want a R107 some day!

Take to the Road is off to the Belgravia Classic Car Show this Sunday. It's set in grounds of leafy Belgrave Square Gardens in the heart of the embassy quarter of London. Tickets are £10 in advance or £15 on the day. It should be a splendid day out!
Some jobs on classics are just stupid. Take this busted gaiter on my Alfa S3 Spider. I thought it would be a simple swap. Wrong!!! It is one of the most stupid gear stick cover installs I’ve ever come across. It is simply impossible to fit the new one as the vinyl material is too thick. Plus access is terrible. Taking some dash panels apart hasn't made it any better. Total time wasted on this... 4hrs... The Alfa won’t make a show in London now this weekend as a result😤
Whilst the Alfa Spider was being sorted by Alfa guru Ian, his colleague Paul was getting to grips with a Lotus Esprit Turbo cam belt change. As you can see it’s not an easy swap. It had a seized tensioner as well. Wasn’t changed when the belt was done last!
The Alfa Spider had an early appointment with AutoBritalia this morning. Dropped it off for a diff oil change and gearbox oil top up (S3s gearboxes like to leak and never really seal properly). This is the kind of job I would do myself but I haven't got a jack or a set of axle stands big enough to get the car up that high. It's always good though dropping by AutoBritalia to chat Alfa’s with mechanic Ian. He knows so much about these and other Alfa models. An encyclopaedia of knowledge!
And here's our Highlights from the 2016 St John’s Wood Classic and Supercar Pageant. There was some gorgeous automotive metal on display! So if you are in London this Sunday it is worth popping along to this years show.
One of the coolest cars at the London Concours was this awesome 1954 Lancia Aurelia B20GT Series 4. It isn’t one for the purists as it is heavily modified. But just look at it!!! It’s got a Flaminia V6 engine and Porsche 356 seats. Plus it is FIA approved so it can go racing! Yup it’s awesome!
#lanciaaurelia #lancia #b20gt #londonconcours
Treated the Alfa Spider to some new door cards today. The old ones were shot and were pretty scruffy. Plus the Alfa is going to be displaying at a posh show in London next weekend. So it needs to look a bit less scruffy. There is a lot of work ahead! Oh and I'll be releasing a door card removal and install video tomorrow eve.
Seeing as it is #SwedishSaturday we thought we’d share our very first feature film staring a wonderful 1966 Volvo P1800S. Made famous by Roger Moore in The Saint, it is the coolest Volvo ever made.
Gilbern was Wales only car maker. And before their untimely demise, they built the T11 Prototype. An incredible mid engine sports cars. Here’s our film with its owner who spent nearly 10 years restoring it.
Thanks to our friends over at Just British for choosing our Vauxhall Viceroy's visit to the Vauxhall Museum in Luton as their video of the week. Much appreciated guys!

This 1961 Ferrari 250 GT SWB was delivered to Rob Walker at Le Mans in 1961. It was raced by Stirling Moss, Graham Hill and Innes Ireland. There is so much history attached to this wonderful race car. It is one of the most significant and valuable Ferrari's in the world.

A little bit of Double Bubble for #FiatFriday. My favourite of all the cars London Concours is this 1959 Fiat Abarth 750GT Zagato. Cute and capable, the pocket sized GT finished 1-2-3 at the 1957 Mille Miglia in the sub 750cc class. These things are quick, light and corner like they are on rails.
